hi all, just moved to cavan (not far from town) recently and settling in.
are there any pubs with decent live music, social groups, or aerobics classes etc in the area?

........Hmm, I think the fact that no one has a reply for you after 5 days answers the question sufficiently

    Funny...

What side of Cavan are ya? If you go out the Killeshandra direction you could go to Killykeen forest park for a nice walk.

There's pubs with live musics in most town's if your going to Cavan town go to McMahons for the live schtuff.

Should be lots of aerobics classes on if you check the local gyms, I'd reccomend the Cavan Crystal...nice spot.

Loads of festivals on this time of year too!

haha, i think all the cavan people are so busy doing fun stuff they havent time to be sitting at a computer posting threads.....

There's loads to do in and around cavan town, there are all sorts of sports and social clubs, pick up some of the local press and have a look or ask some locals about joining one. Try either the Co Cavan Swimming complex or the Cavan Crystal Hotel for aerobics classes, and i presume there would be something in the Radisson too, although its not something i've ever tried.....

As to nightlife, the pub scene is pretty good, better than most towns of its size, although it is lacking a good live band venue. Mc Mahons and the Imperial have live bands some weekends, or try McGinnittys for some newer acts.
