Alot of importance in poker is weighted toward game selection.

As a player on iPoker (50 NL , possibly up to 100 NL) what does game selection mean ? How do you select ?

Is there software out there that people use ?
Do you just add bad players as buddies and then search for them when you log on ? Are there PT stats you use to identify spewy players / fish ?

    Thanks for the help

Yeah, there's some software out there to help with this. Thinks it's called eyepoker or spadeeye or something. I personally don't use them and would be looking for tables with high average pots/ high player per flop % and a decent hands per hour stat.
As you mentioned, it's good to search for buddies at the start and at regular intervals thereafter to try to catch one of your tagged players at a table.
As for PT stats, high vpip is generally the marker of a bad player. The more maniacal the better(ie. good to have a high pfraise to go alng with the vpip), although some people may prefer playing against more passive fish to extract value with big hands.

Of course all of this depends on the amount of tables you play and game availabilty.
At peak hours you will obviously get more good tables and can therefore afford to pick the softest available up to the threshold of the amount of tables you are willing to play(I play a max of 4).If you are a massive multitabler you have to accept the less juicy games unless you also game select through site aswell(play on more than one site simultaneously).

See all those guys who play a lot of hours and are 18/15? Yeah don't sit with them.

Eyepoker is the main game selection tool. The only thing is now everyone seems to have it so when there is a giant fish it usually has a waiting list of 10 people

I just pick tables where player/flop is >30%, then play an orbit or so to see what its like. Stay if good, leave if bad.
