    Jesus, you weren't exaggerating :P

In all fairness, that show looks pretty old

I know, you would think they could have just done without it though. The animation wasn't too bad...

What about Initial D First Stage.. 2d anime, and then 3d cars. Strange. The cars in 4th stage look amazing though.

The CGI grasshopper thing in Haruhi was pretty weird too, but that comes with the territory.

cgi should really only be used to enhance the animation, for example to make the image sharper, tidier or create a slightly blurry effect around light maybe. I remember seen some cgi in that awful final fantasy anime and i wasnt crazy about the cgi used for the submarine in full metal panic.

I found it quite impressive in Ghost in the Shell 2.

Hey Battletech was awesome! Those special effects blew my mind back when I was a kid! :D

Shut your mouth. That was Awesome. Wire frame mechs and the same reused footage over and over.
A thing of greatness passed you in the night and you just peed on it.

By now I'd it's not even worthy of excretions...

See, that first one just has a weird contrast between the cell & CGI animation styles. It's disconcerting, but not atrocious (I could watch it without feeling sick)

The Battletech one OTOH reminds me of everything I hate about 80s/90s cartoons -- ugly and lacking any kind of sensible art direction.

Remember the GOlgo 13 was made 25 years ago and that the CGI was on par with what existed at the time. It does look crap now but back then I'm sure it impressed, much like most kids today would turn their nose up at the effects in films such as The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad.

I meant the synchronic text only, sorry if I caused harm.

I knew that this thread was about that absurdly bad CGI helicopter in Golgo13 before I even read it. It really is comically bad!
