That's an SL, not an SLC.

It is certainly worth looking at for that price, but despite what the seller says I guarantee you its hiding structural rust.

Best to get an expert to check the sills and bulkhead areas, rear footwells for dampness etc.

Nice Irish reg though, I would want to see eveidence of who has looked after it etc...

Saw that car online last week, and thought it looked a bit rough.

I'd definitely be asking questions since the seller describes it as an SLC. Since he probably doesn't know much about the car you need to be sure you (or someone with you) does! As MercMad says, there is probably surprises awaiting the viewer who pokes a screwdriver into some hidden areas.

The description doesn't mention the soft-top, so you'd want to ensure you get the hardtop off to have a look at it.

I'd say there should be wiggle room at that price, given the economy, fuel prices and the weather at the moment! :)

Thanks for the advice lads - two reasons I was drawn to this particular car:

    1. Nice original Irish reg
    2. Advert is very honest

Found another contender elsewhere - What do you think?

That new contender sounds almost too good to be true. Definitely worth following up on. Looks good in that one pic!

    Great reg plate, too!

Yeah i would get on that second one straight away. It looks very well, has had money spent and appears to live indoors.

Obviously be aware of the usual issues !

    Goos luck !
