I could have sworn I just heard something moving in the cupboard.

Couldn't see anything when I looked in though.

I don't mind too much myself but the dog will go ape**** when she cops. She's part terrier.

Oddly enough, we got a mouse in the canteen in work last week. It was nothing a bit of Lidl chocolate on a mouse-trap couldn't fix. At least mousey went out with a smile on his/her face.

    Let her at it.
Terriers are great for that kind of thing.

Yeah. I'm not knocking Lidl chocolate by the way; it's just what was knocking around at the time. The stuff that has the gooey white centre in it. Perfect for sticking to mousetraps.

Put down a trap or some poison. The mousey will be crapping all over the place as well.

Thought there was a mouse in my bedroom before, heard something scurrying about in a plastic bag full of clothes.

Called boyfriend, he moved said plastic bag and a BIG F*CKIN HUGE beetle came scurrying out. I nearly wee'd meself. He sat there laughing :(. I don't like insects.

Mice are ten times worse, dirty little rodents. Let your terrier at it.

I've never had vermin in my house... it's a minor miracle considering how rarely I clean the place.

I did see a big rat by the canal yesterday though.

... that's pretty much all I have to say on this topic.

Is the OP in Canada? I don't want to get excited over nothing like in that bat thread.

P.S. mice are great. Especially chocolate ones.

have to set a few traps i suppose op. you could also try them electronic yokes that you plug in, they emit some high pitched sound (that humans cant hear) which deters mice and rats.
    dirty little feckers

I can hear them. Stayed in a castle for a friends 30th birthday in April and they were in every room. Me and my friends baby were the only ones that could hear them. She kept fussing til we brought her outside and my head was slit in 2 with it, especially when I was hungover.

a good old fashioned wooden mouse trap with chocloate. Gauranteed to snap their neck. They love the taste of chocolate

It actually just sounds like a mouse squeaking away. Continuously.

Mice are a constant problem in Edinburgh. I've waged war on mice about 6 times in 2 years. It's a bloody pain when you can't tell where they're coming from! The do love chocolate though, and I use nutella for ease. The wooden traps are dodgy though, mice have often managed to completely remove the bait without setting off the traps. Try to get a plastic easy-to-set one.

at least you know its there before anything nasty happens. I was tucking into my 3rd spoonful of alpen before i noticed that some of the 'museli' was floating when it shouldn't have been. Turns out that mice really like the stuff and that mouse poo floats in milk. An interesting fact but thats not a great way to find it out. :-)

We used humane traps and released them and their terror onto the people of Lixnaw...

A good way to mice alive is to get a pirex boul and balance it on an egg covered in Nutella from the inside, the mouse will push the egg from under the boul when licking the nutella and thus trap itself inside. You then slide a piece of stiff cardboard under the boul to get it out. You can then purchase a small cage in a pet shop with an exercise wheel etc and keep it as a pet. :)

sometimes they can lick the peanut butter off the trap without setting it off, I would jam a piece of bread / cheese and cover it with peanut butter it so that they would nibble / tug at it.

I didn't think mice could hold glasses of booze...

edit just realised the mouse could have already been in the toaster when she plugged it in. was initially thinking of her "accidentally"
picking up a mouse and toasting it under the grill or something
    d'oh!
