can rte be watched online outside ireland ??

    a friend of mine is away on holiday and he is desperate to watch the hurling tomorrow but cant find a bar showing the game, rte only allow you to watch online if you are in ireland, i know it can be done through proxy but tbh that would be too hard to explain to him as he aint good with pc's, do any of ye guys know of any sites that might be able to access the game outside ireland,

    One way of doing it would be using your own pc as a proxy. For example using vlc to play the stream but instead of playing locally, push to a server. That would mean that you would only have to give your friend the address of your computer.

    Vlc has problems displaying video in real media streams but it might relay them correctly. I'm not sure.

    If vlc doesn't work, you may be able to do the same with real alternative.

    Oh and i have assumed you have a nice fast upload speed. :P

    lol,l thats a whole lotta work that i aint got time for, im getting the train to the match myself in about an hour, thanks for the reply bud, btw i only have a 1m upload speed, so i dont think that would do it anyway ??

    you can try going through www.anonymouse.org or you can use a program called 'hide my ip'.... it lets you choose a country... you can download it from download.com

    Did it work for him in the end ? A bunch of us in the uk have found the sports streaming works but the news on the main page doesnt. No idea why
