Hey...I was just wondering what people in UCD think about the omnibus arts degree?? Is it possible to do a masters in a certain subject afterwards?? Thanks

Yep, there's no problem doing a masters from an arts omnibus degree. However, most schools require a student to have attained at least a B average (not sure of the grade point average) in the subject in order to 'qualify' for the masters course. In addition, some masters courses may be competitive, so the minimum grade may not be sufficient to guarantee you a place. If you don't attain the minimum GPA some schools allow you to do what is called an MA qualifying exam so you can achieve the required grades. Try looking up the postgrad requirements for each subject you take; you can usually find this on each school website and on the admin. page too.

What convert says is true, to get into a masters one needs a 2:1 degree which GPA wise is lower than he states half way between a C+ and B- is a 2:1 ie a GPA of 3.08 and above.
