The HMV web site has been down all day yesterday and today, at least for me anyway. They must be losing thousands, on probably the 2 busiest buying days of the week. I suppose they can afford it, but it seems a long time to be unavailable.

    Maybe it's just you.

That's strange HMV is accessible through the proxy www.anonymouse.org, but not directly from my browser using www.hmv.com. I wonder why that is? I've even assigned myself a new IP address by restarting my router, still unavailable. I can access every other web site as normal. Maybe they're having huge demand and blocking selected foreign IP address ranges? I get the message: Failed to Connect:Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at hmv.com. So looks like it's being blocked.

Some people were having a problem over on HUKD a few days ago as well: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/227567/anyone-else-having-problems-with-hm/ so looks like I'm not alone.

Could be DNS issues, maybe give opendns a try and see how it goes.

True it could be DNS, I've just tried on another computer, and it's the same. I don't need the site urgently, so I'll probably just wait. Thanks for replying anyway Jor el.

Last night i got the "down for essential maintenence" message and today I get "internet explorer cannot display this webpage"... Tried PC and laptop.
Deleted files and cookies and all that on the PC and rebooted, still internet can't display whatnot.
Can get on other stuff fine.

I asked my mate, they got on ok.
Any one else unable to get on?

It's not down, and don't drag up old threads.
