Excellent episode, and brings closure to the Weir storyline.... I don't think thats what the producers had in store when we heard Weir saying "Its time to begin" at the end of Be All My Sins Remember'd, but it was a good rescue of the storyline.

With about 2 minutes to go, I thought the ending was very weak, but the last 2 minutes completely turned it around and bumped this episode from 4/5 to a 5/5 for me.

    Great stuff.

Yeah 2 good episodes in a row - I was quite impressed how they wrapped up the Weir storyline without having the actress involved (although that's now Weir III).

It slotted in nicely and Wolsey was good again - especially as he called the replicator's bluff and let the city continue to sink.

I'm surprised that they let the replicator's have super strength - or did I miss a line there and WhatsHisFace beefed himself up? I thought the basic model should be weaker for security reasons.

As it come to a close, I was like Mr. E and kind of annoyed that Wolsey was letting them walk away just on their word. Seemed a bit of a security risk. Well the actually ending sorted that out - certainly one of the, if not the, darkest endings in the show. I really liked it.

Excellent episode and as ixoy said, a very dary ending.

    seriously?

    that was an awful episode.

childish muck, but then what more should I have expected from atlantis.

    stargate is dead.

I would give this episode 3.5/5 it was good but to be honest the ending I saw it coming the whole space gate bit at the start gave it away and woolsey was never going to let them leave but in fairness they did good with what they had...also replicators can survive in space(like Niam) so Weir might be back.

It was a good episode but I can't help but think what might have been, had they gotten Torri Higginson back to reprise her role as Weir... not a bad rescue of that story line but I had higher expectations for this episode and expected it to set up more of the overall season arc which it didn't seem to do.

Woolsey was very good again, it was good to show him as a strong leader something they never did for Carter in S4 so they're putting more thought into setting him up as a proper leader it seems. Still haven't seen a truly outstanding episode this season though...

Why did you bother watching atlantis if you think that?
Thought that episode wrapped up the Weir storyline quite nicely with what they had to work with, can't see how they could have improved on it.

I would have thought these were a more basic model of replicator than Niam and wouldn't have his ability to survive. This would be the sort of safeguard that McKay should have put in.

Of course you're probably right and we'll see them again but I'd prefer we did not.

I thought it was ok, nothing special. Seen the ending coming when they were walking towards the stargate although I thought there would be a black hole or a sun on the other side. At least that's the whole wier story line wrapped up now.

it starts off with flying monkeys and finishes with a really neat twist. they wrapped it up but they still havent finally burned the Replicator Card yet, which leaves me feeling uneasy. They need to go find some new story arc to get involved with. Wolsey did good this episode: Picardo has talent.

Thought it was alright, guess they did best with what was left. I like the mentioning of new advanced races, it could really do with some new interesting friends/foes.

i hope they dont dwell for 3-4 eps, and head straight out to find one of the races with advanced tech, or even try doing something with wraith tech,

if youre brave enough to travel to the wiki page for season 5 it lists out the summaries for the rest of the season.

The episode was ok, I did enjoy the way they handled the Weir problem and sinking the city was a good threat with Wolsey showing his grit. The ending made up for an ok episode. It reminded me of what they did to [SG1 Season 8 spoiler]
    Anubis in sg1
. It was fairly dark and I hope for the sake of the show that's an end to the replicators. I enjoyed the mechano replicators but the human form ones became so boring.

After that ending, we are definitely going to see Replicators again. They should have sent them into a sun or a black hole or something. They're just going to get picked up by a ship or something where they are.

I'd say that thats what they do because I read somewhere that one of the episodes involves Atlantis being put on front of a court made up of advanced planets to see whether they are doing pegasus any good!

We know from experience that replicators can survive both the destruction of a ship and re-entry. Even if they had been vaporised you have to remember they are scatterd all over pegasus from the 7 (or 8?) Orian class ships destroyed by the deadalus and the Oddsey in season 4's war with the replicators. Im assuming there are others besides those that went though the space gate.

Ive decided to stop. For the last few years ive always read whats going to happen in stargate (but never season finalie's or season openers)

but because of this episode im going to stop i actually know up to episode 19 of this season now... but still next year im not going to read up because i think i would have enjoyed this episode more if it had all been a mystery.

Overall i thought it was great (i liked) but it would have been better if they had of kept them on atlantis under guard.

It was different for those replicators even the ones that were in the ships got sucked into the big ball on the planet because they were close to it...so they're dead but replicators can survive in space.

I thought it was ok. One thing I've lost track of is Weir. So when they raided the replicators to get a ZPM back in 4x02 (i think) Weir was captured and killed yeah? Then what the hell happened so her conciousness was in a replicator?

sorry i didnt explain myself well, the two earth ships destroyed 7 or 8 orian class repliactor ships before they retreated to their homeworld

She was a replicator when she was captured. She was split into different replicators but part of her survived in each replicator.

I didn't think it was that good of an episode, started well and ended well but the middle didn't do it for me at all. The kind of flashback scenes where weir explained what had happened was a little too tacked on for me, almost a forced story line.

Wolsey great as always, the shows new saviour.

Although I liked the end i was expecting something different. When they were all lined up in the gate and telling them they weren't allowed to contact anyone except Atlantis i thought they were already uploaded to the virtual reality when they would be kept by Atlantis for future episodes or something.

this episode bored me to tears...Im a bit sick of replicators and weir tbh. Any sending them into space was pointless imo. thats not going to finish them off. ..meh... only good thing is the knowledge of other advanced peoples and wraith tech...

Wolsey was the only performer in this one. I enjoyed all the episodes up to this one ..and I look forward to the next one.

I'm just catching up on a few episodes now. I was looking forward to the return of the replicators, so I could see what they had planned for that story line. Unfortunately, they did exactly what I hoped they wouldn't do. They brought Weir back in a different body. This episode just seemed a bit crap to me. Weir's behavior was out of character, pretending to have escaped and so on. It just seemed like a quick fix to having lost Tori Higginson, so they just killed the story.
