Connecting HP Laptop to flat screen Samsung

    Hi,

    I am trying to connect a flat screen Samsung to a HP Laptop. I have worked through the instructions in the various manuals. I think the TV is picking up the laptop but is not displaying the desktop. I think this is because the settings for the monitor are not set correctly. When I go to the display settings it only gives me options to adjust the laptop monitor settings, and does not give me a chance to change the settings of any external monitor

    Any advice is appreciated
