    I'm travelling to Corfu at the end of the month. The return flight gets in to Gatwick at 12.20am (as in just after midnight) but my ryannair flight is at 10am:rolleyes: so what to do? will there be anything open? do people just lie on the floor & go to sleep?? I'm travelling alone so I'm a bit wary re my personal security - don't want to robbed/felt up in my sleep.
    I can get the saver rate room in Travel Lodge for £39 - worth it? I imagine I'll have to get taxis to & from airport to it ...Budget is definitely an issue

    thanks for any advice.

    You could try this....

    www.yotel.com/

    Bookable in blocks of 4 hour periods.

    I stayed at the Yotel in Gatwick a coupe of weeks ago. The standard room is very compact but has all you need. If you have a lot of baggage it would get a bit cosy. I was lucky that Virgin allow you to check in the night before. Security is not an issue.

    all I need is somewhere to safely rest my tired head so it sounds great.
    any promo discount codes?

    I have not seen any coupons for the Yotel. The depend for a lot of their business on people booking on the day. Which terminal are you flying into? If its the South one then its very close to the exit from arrivals. You will see a Costa Coffe when you exit. To the right of that you will see a set of lifts. The Yotel is down one floor on the lift

    The flight from corfu-> gatwick arrives north terminal.
    gatwick-> dublin is from south

    so I have to get a shuttle bus either end I suppose. ho hum, this will be fun, and then getting home to look after 2 kids!

    There is a shuttle train between the terminals. Its free and every 5 minutes or so. Once you get off walk straight ahead till you get to the terminal building turn right and the lifts are about 50 yards or so on the right

    I've spent a night in Gatwick before, I managed to find a few chairs to lie on upstairs somewhere. Your biggest problem might be finding somewhere quiet to get a couple of hours shut eye though due to cleaners etc about the place.

    The premier inn is about about a 5-10 minute easy walk from the north terminal and you can pick up a room for about £75. They do a frequent shuttle bus for £2. I always try to stay here whenever i'm overnighting at Gatwick. Haven't tried the yotel yet.

    As mentioned above both terminals are connected by a free monorail shuttle.

    Thanks so much for the yotel suggestion. I LOVED it, I really had a great nights kip and didn't want to leave in the morning.

    i know you are already back and everything, but just for others info - if you are flying with BA you can get a special discount on the premier inn. i stayed there a few times, and got it for £39 one time and £55 the second - both times included the all you can eat buffet breakfast. After my first time staying I knew for further travels to avoid the fist flight of the morning and get the next one - that way I got a good nights sleep, a gut buster brekkie and didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn.

    I flew with BA and booked the hotel via BA and got special rates, but yu can also book just the hotel with them. Also the price I paid was per room, and each time I got a triple room, so for anyone travelling in a couple or with kids its really very cheap - cheaper than occupying yourself at the airport and buying coffees and snacks!
