    Hi,
even in the few fine days we've had lately, I have'nt seen a single swallow outside my window where they're usually regularly flying by feeding on bugs.
Perhaps it's just my local neighbourhood? Is this normal in bad weather?

The wet weather is making it difficult for swallows and martins to feed. It was worse last year though. I don't know if they have already left in great numbers but I did see some feeding here in Dublin yesterday.

I think ours may of left but next doors are still there flying about. In between the showers they are flying about, yesterday I think it must of been the babies were out flying full of beans. Lot of food here for them love having them in our garden although the parents usually fly off during the day prob the wet weather has made them stick nearer or maybe because they will be leaving soon not sure.

We've a swallows nest on the eve of our house. There's a few flying about between showers, but not the usual 40+ social group that I'd normally see performing aerobatics out the back.

Plenty of Swallows still about in Enniscorthy but the wet weather must be affecting them badly. :)
