Can I teach in USA with UK teaching Qualification?

Hi Guys, might be in the wrong forum, sorry if it is! I was wondering if anyone knows what the story is with working for a year or so in the US if you're a qualified teacher? I will have a UK qualification, a PGDE in Primary Teaching.
