Hi I would like to find a writing partner(s) in Dublin who I can hang with, get drunk with, debate with, share storys with, go dancing with, sing songs with and to have a good time with even if I never become a writer.
I love writing and reading but I also love to converse and have a good time with people too, Is anybody up for it??

It beats talking to a computer screen I suppose

I read widely but I'm mostly interested in beat generation stuff, lost generation poetry etc...

Just pm me if you wanna chat, bye for now

No disrespect, but I don't believe looking at a computer screen is going to inspire me to write a masterpiece any time soon. I believe the greatest writing is derived from life and that most of the good lives have never been written about....Recently I went to the Irish Writers Museum and watched a reacting of the most famous Irish writers words come to life (Some guy reading and talking) But the funny thing is that I meet people who speak like that almost everyday that have no interest in writing. Writing must be lived before being wrote, I firmly believe that. For instance, there's a guy here on boards who want's to know how to write about emotions that he has never experianced. That could never serve literature well.....

    I have lived

    grew up on musicals
I have an MS in physics (optics)-[no I don't want to discuss the philosophy of it]
    I've been a dancer for 10+ years
I've been in choir including madrigals
I rode by bicycle across the united states
I lived under a college library for 6 months
I'm the safest driver I know
I lived in a shack with a beehive in the attic and a family of skunks underneath
    I skinny dip

    I am a prolific poet
when I was a teenager, I was The Dungeon Master
and I'm a computer programmer and probably should just build my own forum

I thought nothing new was a popular thread

Hey Matt when I said no disrespect I meant it!
I'm not sure if your serious or not, but I get the feeling you have not done any of those things if you derive pleasure from trying to wind up people on boards.

    It's just a hunch:)

In fairness, at least Matt contributes to this Forum. If you have such an interest in writing, why not post some of it so that we can read it? Maybe then we'd get a taste for your work, get an understanding of your style and maybe even develop an interest in writing with you.

To be brutally honest, this thread has nothing to do with creative writing. You're looking for a drinking buddy, not a writing-partner.

I want a writing partner who can give me ideas on my already existing project and I would try to help him/her in theirs. I'm not looking for a drinking buddy I just thought I'd try put some humor across:D

As I said I don't like talking to computer screens,or for that matter,
posting my writing to a faceless bunch of people who call themselfs "writers".

    P.S
To the people who like human contact
    I'm still looking!!

Is that not precisely what happens when you publish work in a book, magazine or journal? Meh. Each to their own...

Also, worst text formatting ever!

They don't. I didn't highlight the word "writers" in my quote, I focused in on the "faceless" part.

At present I confine my writing entirely to poetry. I've written close to 100 poems, two of which have been published (from a batch of eight submitted). I have not yet attempted to create any kind of fantasy worlds, scenarios or characters, as my goal is nearly always to represent reality. However, I have started plans to begin a collaborative work, with a writing partner, which will probably take the form of a short story.

Crazy Frog was original, but people still find that incredibly annoying
Also, why did you put the word 'your' in inverted commas?

Does the whole damn forum have me on ignore?

If I have to ask people to calm down one more time this week I will be extremely annoyed. Quit your dick-waving competition and settle down. And God help the next person to add a rolleyes emoticon.

Listen, most people that use this website and forum are incredibly self centred and pose as the best critics around. I don't think that most of this sites users have the knowledge or respect to view somebodys work in an objectiive light. Most are mainly concerned with the putting down of others just because they may never see the person they are unfairly dismissing as a bad writer. I apologise for anything that may have offended you as a writer or as a person. I'm just so angery that I haven't been able to find a writer that believes in what I do and only becomes subjective on a personal level. I understand that I could easily become arrogant, insult you, and set up a new account with BOARDS, but I would rather be candid. I hope you are doing well and I hope your poetry inspires, just as I hope my poetry will inspire one day, or, just one person. Let there be peace:)

Who cares about what other people think? If you like what you have done well then that’s the most important thing because there will always be others to criticize, sod them…

This comes from someone who has written a lot of stuff, finished my first book recently and after getting advice from everyone I realize that it all differs and it really is up to you what you want to listen to, use and ignore (which is most important at times as you would never finish otherwise lol)

So long as you believe in what you do then that’s all that’s important. You could find a group of likeminded people and discuss ideas/stories forever but you have to do it yourself, don’t get too caught up in it and focus on your work.
