My wife is looking to replace her mobile phone (O2 pay as you go) and has specific requirements for the replacement handset with regard to predictive text.

She is looking for the following features ..
    - add word to Glossary
    - remove word from Glossary
    - insert number from Contacts to message
    - capture number from message & save to Contacts
    - include symbols in message in 1 or 2 keystrokes

The O2 stores don't let you 'road test' handsets to this extent.

Does anyone here use a handset whose predictive text ticks all of the boxes above ? She's less pushed about camera & media player features.

sony ericssons would have all that
i know the pain....sony ericsson to nokia to motorola to sony ericsson to nokia,, in two weeks...
the symbols, you can either press one button then change the symbol to one from a list by pressing down, first two are "." and ","
or you can press around two buttons and look at a grid of symbols.
All of your wives phone needs will be ticked by a sony ericsson

    PS: hope this helps

O2 experience stores have handsets on the wall that you can play around with. Some of them anyway
