Can eve online work on the ul network without doing any tampering or is tampering required? I heard there was some restrictions on it.

Or would anyone know if there is any experimental wimax wireless in place around there? There are supposed to be some trial networks set up in certain cities of ireland.

Most of the new WPAs needed a UL network logon for authentication when they were installed (that's the ULW network). The ulwireless network has no restrictions and no finickiness required to access through it.

ITD had decided that all of the older WPAs would be converted to the new network but last I heard were thinking of rolling this back and dropping the restrictions entirely on the new access points.

So in short - ULW network needs authentication, the ulwireless network doesn't.

Of course there are ports blocked on both networks.
