I have noticed today that my sensor has some dirt on it. I have never needed to clean it as yet and dont even know if it needs to be done professionally for a minolta 5d. Does anyone know where I can go in Dublin to have this done as the camera centre does not do it!

would you consider doing it yourself?
    if not I.S.S. do it..

berminghams do it, but you could do it yourself

have you tried an air blower first, make sure its just not loose dirt first

I know you can buy kits and that but as I've never done it before I'd be afraid of damaging it, knowing my luck the camera would be destroyed.

The air blower though is that the same one you would use for keyboards and computers? I know it is one piece that I can see, I dont know how it got in there as I havent removed the lens in a long time.

I got a rocket blower recently and it did the trick - cheap too. It took a little perseverance - the dust didn't shift immediately but after a couple of minutes i've now got a clean sensor (now i can't blame the sensor for a bad photo! :D )

the only thing you have to be very careful with the rocket blowers, is that they can degrade inside and so the first few blows each time are blow crap, so blow it a good few times before sticking it near your camera

I agree with the suggestions of getting a rocket blower first. I came back from hols earlier this year and needed my sensor cleaned as I was doing a wedding two weeks later. I bought a rocket blower and the correct eclipse fluid in case I needed to do a wet clean. The rocket blower did the trick and I didn't need to perform a wet clean.

I have the Visible Dust stuff here. You are just down the road, so we could clean it with that if you like?

    PM me to arrange.

Was really nice to meet you today. Sensor cleaning is not that hard when you know how. Pity I could not shift that dust in the viewfinder, but that will not affect the image.
