Any and all advice appreciated please smile.gif

Am looking at booking a function room for a small(ish) get together for family and friends following a registry office wedding (again smallish affair) in Tipperary [actually Limerick or within easy travel] next November.

We were very undecided but now think it might be a good idea to book a Country pub or maybe a small Hotel with a function room and hopefully a bit of atmosphere/character and are just looking to find one somewhere.

    - Numbers are 60-80 I think and if there was room for a band it would be a def. bonus. Food would be as available or else via a caterer [?]

Its for a Thursday night - dunno is that a particularly busy night around the Pubs of Limerick re. 45 or poker nights etc., but heres hoping !!!

Would Doolin be too far for you to travel? Was at a small wedding (about 100 people to afters, maybe half that sitting down for food) in the Tir Gan Ean hotel, it was gorgeous, the service and food were great and it wasn't much more than an hour from Limerick. The bar was big enough for a group that size, with a dancefloor and room for a dj/small band but not so big that you felt like you were rattling around in a big empty function room. Lovely patio area outside and stunning scenery nearby.

Coolbawn Quay is also really lovely food and ambience-wise although I think it would possibly book out quicker (and be pricier!) than Doolin as it's more established

Ballykisteen Hotel just outside of Tipp town is really nice too and well finished but maybe less atmosphere than the other two. They cater for groups in the bar and have an amazing spa

    Hope these help!
