Help!!! I was doing a disk clean up on my hard drive last night and changing some of the settings and now my PC won't start! It says Boot Mgr Missing! I was having trouble as my hard drive memory is split between my C drive which is full, and my empty E data drive. The Pc Was giving me hassle cos the C drive was full saying it didn't have enough memory to open photos etc. I was changing settings to try and make it use memory from the empty E drive and I must have changed the wrong thing! Someone please help!

I don't know... I have been searching on the internet for advice and apparently I need my Vista CD... I don't know if I ever had one or if Vista was already installed when I bought the PC- I can't remember

What program did you use to repartition the drive?

You should have gotten a restore disk in that case.

Try and get a vista dvd off someone you know and then follow this http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/08/23/bootmgr-is-missing-during-vista-boot-error/

i didn't use any program to repartition the drive-was trying to fix it through the control panel. I have asked MIcrosoft for a repair disc but I am very tempted to bring the PC to a repair place today- I really need it. I am also worried I will lose my files- I have 3000+ photos on it let alone my music, videos and documents.

Firstly, your not going to lose anything. Information from hard drives can be easily recovered.

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode??. If you can all is good, whatever change you made to your configuration can be easily recovered. Try booting to safe mode and tell us the outcome.

Ok basically you've removed the startup on the harddrive and its not finding your operating system... You need to get a vista disk from anyone (beg borrow or steal) and have it boot into windows using the disk....btw Make sure the bios is correctly configured to try the cd drive first...
