    Hi all,

I am just wondering what are the best track and field event combination. For a short man :S 5.6 to 5.8ft person 61kg or 91/2stones.

    (100/60m) - (200m)
    (100/60m) - (Long jump)
    (100/60m) - (Long jump/triple jump)
    (100/60m) - (Triple Jump)
    (100 - 60m)

If you are asking which of these events would be most suitable for someone with those statistics, I'd say it would be the 100. The jumps would require you to be a bigger man, especially the triple which is for very big men, thats not saying small guys can't jump.

And say the OP went ahead and got into running the 100m, what time should they be aiming for as a novice?

I ask partly due to my own curiosity as i've managed to do it in around 14.1 sec now without any proper training, so is it possible, with enough dedication and training to improve much on this time? Oh and how would javelin fit into that mix of events posted, or would it?

Am currently 5'9", 64kg but most muscle is lower body...

ah Well I am 5'7/8, 91/2stones and My slowest is 12Sec I run constant at 11.60/80sec. I am very weak at 200m, I love the long jump 5m+ never 6 :( and triple jump 11m+ never 12. My height is letting me down but in competion I usually get medals at the jumping events :) but not at sprinting I mean wtf.

So what are decent times? am 20 btw.

Well you probably would need to be doing 11.2-11.4 to be considered decent which you are close to. There are almost 20 guys this season who are sub 11 so to get into the reckoning that could be something to focus on.

Ah ok, i will try focus on 100m Sprint and 100m endurance fit enough for the IUAA indoors. Can you link me to a good 2 days training plan. I work and I can't train most days untill college is back and I can train 4 days gym and track. I need to work on my trunk.
