Greetings Fellow Musicans,

I have just discovered this website and this its a great place to go if your loooking to get an opinion on something or exchange details on topics of mutual interest.

I have initiated this thread to see if there is any interest in starting a music club for the above counties. It appears that a lot of the posts are for dublin which makes sense because of the population.

I have a venue thats available free of charge that can accomodate up to eight people at one time and the acoustics is superb. Similar to a book club where musicans can meet up, play music, share idea's. The club is for singer / songwriters, beginers, intermediates and advanced musicans who play covers and all instruments are welcome.

The philosophy for this club is to create a relaxed envoirnment for musicans to play on a regular basis, free of charge whilst expanding the knowledge of its participants.

Can the thread be kept open so to see the level of interest and PM can be sent for contact details.

Yeah very interested.A venue is badly needed around the area for musicians to be able to get their music out.I will keep an eye on this thread

Sounds like a good idea. I'm in laois.

By the way, there's a new venue opening in portlaoise in September, called breakers, going to be doing a monthly slot with a high profile band and a lesser known support.

the first night is Sept 20 with the Flaws, support from 12 Gauge

Very interested, I'm in Co. Kilkenny but would be willing to travel to Kildare to Jam and meet fellow musicians.
