    Hi all,

can someone recommend DDR2 RAM for the Intel Quad Core QX9650. I believe that the RAM speed should be related/matched to the FSB? Will i notice much performance increase from my current 2GB DDR2 PC6400 ram?

    Cheers,
    M5

Its more dependent on the motherboard, and speed increases are negligible with ram speed increases.

No you wont to be honest. I noticed no difference at all going from 6400 to 9200. Well apart from synthetic benchmarks. But better ram will help if you plan on overclocking.

Definitely check the the Motherboard suppliers QVL (Quality Vendor List) for compatible RAM or use Crucial.com - there is a scanning utility there that will suggest the best RAM for your system.
