heya, i have a camera thats about six months old, got sand in the lens while on holidays, just wondering if anyone knows any places in dublin to get this repaired? want it to be cheap but good, the camera centre on grafton st said they would charge 180 euro to fix it which i thought was abit steep since camera would only be worth about 250!

    appreciate any help!

    thanks

Anytime I've gone into Camera Centre on Grafton St I've walked straight out after hearing the price of what I was looking for. I've stopped pricing in there at all now. You could try Camera Exchange on Georges St.

all they do is send it on to businesses which you can deal with directly anyway, without a middleman charge.
the camera repair centre up at portobello is usually the one people recommend first. there's also a place on dame street which i've used before with no issues. you should see a plaque the last or second last doorway on the left before you reach trinity street, coming from trinity college.

They've been unreliable recently because I think they're moving office and they have a huge backlog and aren't answering people's calls

I have a Polish friend that I gave my old Zenit & she took it to Poland for a face lift It cost me €30. The camera is 28 years old.
But you might try the UK & this is a link to few repair places.
