Sending Pictures to the Press

I regularly send in captioned pics to a paper I write for, and I get a weekly fee for my work.

However....I send in other pictures (unrelated to my writing) and pictures tosister papers and supplements, some printed, some not.

I'm not NUJ by the way. How should I caption, copyright, title, etc the pics and how should I look for payment (can this be included in File Info).

    Tks

As they are using your pictures you should look for payment im sure all of their photographers get paids and you shouldn't be treated any differently

The only way is to watch what ones the papers are printing and then send them an invoice for the ones they print. Its up to you to watch and see what ones they use.. Unfortunately papers wont pay unless you ask..

Are you writing and supplying pics? Getting paid for both?

In file info, finish the caption with "Picture Credit: corkandproud"
    Then add the appropriate copyright.

As shepthedog said, check the papers you submitted to & invoice if they publish.
I usually put a line on the invoice saying, "Shot of Player A, Sunday Bugle, 08/08/08 Page 69."
