N7 Mountrath Road Closure, Monday 6th October - Thursday 9th October

    N7 Mountrath Road Closure

    Laois County Council hereby serves notice that it is proposed to close the N7 from Derrin Cross, Borris in Ossory to Togher Roundabout on the N7 at Portlaoise. The closure is necessary to allow for road rehabilitation and resurfacing through Mountrath.

    It is intended to close this road for a period of 4 days from Monday 6th October to Thursday 9th October, 2008.

    The following alternative route is available:
    Southbound traffic – exit M7 at Togher Junction on Portlaoise Bypass, take the N8 as far as Durrow, take the R434 to Derrin Cross on the N7 near Borris-in-Ossory.

    Northbound traffic – take R434 at Derrin Cross to Durrow, take N8 as far as Togher Junction on M7.

    Appropriate signage will be in place to divert traffic. Details of Diversion routes will be available for inspection at Aras an Chontae, Portlaoise; Western Area Office, Borris In Ossory, Co. Laois & at www.laois.ie. Local access will be accommodated where possible.

    Any person wishing to object to the proposed road closures should do so in writing to the Staff Officer, Western Area Office, Laois County Council, Borris in Ossory, Co. Laois not later than 12 noon on Wednesday 27th August, 2008.
