Ok, running Mint 5 Elyssa release 1, and I'd like to set up PulseAudio so I can play multiple audio streams and don't really know where to start other than running the PulseAudio daemon...

And I'm also seeing some weird glitches a few video files, most are fine:

I've checked the codecs they're using and some using one codec will look fine, while others using that codec will have the green bar and weird colouring.

I use Audacious for audio and SMPlayer for video (same glitch in MPlayer but not in VLC for some reason, but I don't like VLC anyway)

I could reinstall the codecs but I don't know what to search for in Synaptic. :o

I think they're usually called win32-codecs or similar. That looks like corrupt video to me.

I've had similar issues in MPlayer in Elyssa too. But everything works perfectly in VLC so I never bothered trying to fix it. iirc Totem worked fine as well so it's probably an Mplayer problem.

I found the solution from the SMPlayer forums, changed the display driver option in SMPlayer itself, to x11.

As for the PulseAudio, still not sure.
