    Anyone ever been?

Looking to book a week there for next year. Got a pretty sweet quote for flights, accomodation etc and I've always wanted to go to one of those picturesque Pacific Islands. Gonna be staying in the capital Port Vila so just wondering if anyone has any experiences there.

    Cheers.

Sorry no help as haven't been yet but wondering how much flights cost you? Looking at flights from NZ to Tonga/Samoa/Fiji and was pleasantly surprised but Vanuatu seemed lot more expensive.....

It's an all inclusive package. To fly from Perth to Vanuatu with Qantas it works out at $2800 for both of us with a stopover in Sydney. The package deal we've been given is for $3000 and that includes flights and five nights accomodation in your own studio apartment with private beach. Not too bad really.

i was there for a week in 2005.
it can be a bit basic but nice. anyway what more do you need that the beach and some good weather?
the snorkeling was fantastic. you have to give treasure island a go and send a postcard from the underwater postbox.
theres taxi buses that regularly go round the hotels and take you into the town, the market had some interesting stuff.

and if anyone offers you Flying Fox Stew its really Bat Stew, and not nice.
    ;)
