Ok 28,552 are for Win32.Agent.cmn which are all files on hidden folders in the fonts folder.

So the PC is having a Keniption and I'm trying to decide if I should just give up and reinstall XP or let spybot and AVG try to clean them out? What would you do?

I'd get rid of Spybot and let a decent AS scan your system.
Spybot had its day but is now outdated.
    Try out the following:

    MalwareBytes AntiMalware
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/

    SUPERantispyware
    http://www.superantispyware.com

Thanks. I had both virtumonde and smitfraud on my computer, malwarebytes removed them both. Great tip. :):)
