Last minute city break

    I just found out this was my last day at the job (temping) so I have an unexpected week off next week. I would like to take advantage of it and go somewhere but the fares for most places are quite dear at such short notice. Anyone have any ideas of somewhere I could go for a few days (probably on my own) with reasonable flights and available hostel accommodation? I was thinking of Paris, London, somewhere in Germany perhaps? Is anyone else doing the same?

    or else go soemwhere in the sun, get a last minute deal ina travel agent, can get Bulgaria or soemwhere for a week for 300quid

    Berlin is great for a city break. So much to do if you're on your own too - and quite reasonable.
