In general, or is your post aptly timed when a certain games beginning with "O" is on.

Don't watch Irish television, it'll rot yer brain.

Not really when you think about it there's feck all sport on TV3 or RTÉ 1.

RTÉ 2 has a fair amount but usually at weekends, same with TG4.

The Olympics obviously change that but then it is only 2 and a half weeks every 4 years

Not at all, sure GAA is the only sport comprehensively covered by Irish stations.Rugby and soccer are only covered at international level.

No there's too much reality shite on Irish tv. Sport in general is poorly covered.

The television is covered with ridiculous amount of soapish bull****.

Every single night there is a combination of rubbish television and then on the weekend we have the 4 hour omnibus of each soap.

They should and proabably do use it for torturing prisoners of war.

Not enough sport on Irish TV. RTE et al aren't willing to spend the money on covering Irish sport.

Don't get me started on TV3.

The GAA have the monopoly on sports coverage, the fact that the bleedin' club championships get full TV and radio coverage and the likes of Irish rugby tours to the Southern Hemisphere and Magners and Heineken cup rugby etc. is only given highlights shows and AIL Rugby is given little or no coverage is a total joke.

Irish athletics and swimming is extremely poorly covered, they've improved on basketball and domestic soccer coverage, but in general sports coverage on TV is a joke.

I would say that there is not even close to enough sports on RTE, sure there's plenty of GAA, but other sports get nowhere near enough coverage...

Sorry to shock you, but not counting the "ridiculous amount of soapish bull****" irish channels show about 0.01% good TV

I don't know if the GAA do have a monopoly, RTE really only cover the Championship which now has 10 games on TV3.

TV3 have only ever looked at Soccer as though its the National sport, only now have the choosen to give Rugby or GAA a look in.

TG4 have backed Ladies Football and GAA League over the years when noone else would be bothered, certainly they have had issues with FAI who view them as an Irish Lanuage station that couldn't bring in the viewers, funny how Ladies Football is not the strongest growing sport in the country. I suppose they are stuck with TG4 now, but the FAI would ignor the channel if they could. The do cover Tennis and Cycling which hasn't been on any of the others in a while.

    Setanta?????

How many National games do we have.

Athletics and Swimming could be covered a bit better.

I am inclinde to say no yet the last few weekend I have seen sport on 1, 2, 3 and 4 at the same time.

Bet most countries who unlike us have actually won medals in China don't show as much sport on their TV networks.
