    Hi i am looking to hire a car in spain does anyone no any firms in spain that except cash only for car rental..

    I can't say anything about Spain but there are *very few* companies that don't require a credit card when renting a car and those that do will need a cash deposit (could be up to €2500) and is usually returned by bankdraft.

    You *may* though find some that will accept a debit card.

    Hi there,

    If you're talking about renting frm San Javier airport (Murcia), then I would recommend that you forget about comparison websites and different agents. Just look up the airport online. There are only a few companies; goldcar, solmar, Europcar, Centauro, AurigaCrown.

    Their policies etc on the web say they only take credit cars, and charge for U25 yrs drivers, but I booked a car there this summer with my debit card and no additional charge (I'm under 25). I rang the place first to check - they are v. eager to 'make a sale' so some of these policies don't hold.

    Best to ring up about payment in cash.
