What I expect for the Villa team

    ........................Friedel

    Gardner......Davies.....Laursen....Shorey

    ..........NRC.......Petrov...Barry............
    ......................Young......................

    ...........Agbonlahor....Carew...............

O'Neil has suggested that he will play Barry and Barry has said he has no problem playing

Shorey was added to the team list ahead of L.Young or Ceullar iirc so should make his debut at LB while Gardner continues at RB.

    * Davies to come off after 60mins as he is still getting over his injury - replaced by knight

    * Harewood on for Carew after 60 mins as I heard reports Carew twisted his ankel in training but still finished training.

    * Barry to come off with about 15mins left and get a great reception being replaced by one of Osbourne/Routledge/Maloney etc

subs will differ depending on how the game is going result wise.

    Prediction 2:0 to Villa (please)
for anyone not going into town ill try and post a stream later

Hopefully Pats get that away goal tonight and have a chance bringing it back to Richmond.

    Either 0-0 or 3-1 Elfsborg I think.

Based on what I've read (and the available stats) Elfsborg are absolutely watertight at the back - only 5 goals conceded in 18 league games this season; but, they've only scored 25. It seems 1-0 to the Elfsborg may be a rather common chant around Sweden. Pats will be doing well to grab an away goal, but I think they need one to have a realistic chance of progressing. Avoiding defeat would obviously be good too! On paper, it looks like a tough task, especially with Pats missing a few through injury. I cringe at the thought of that new guy, Murphy, playing up front alone.

Having said all that, Elfsborg only just scraped by FK Riga in the intertoto (1-0 on aggregate) and they struggled to beat Linfield in last year's Champions League 1st Qualifying Round (again, 1-0 on aggregate). I’m going to stick my neck out and say Pats will (at least) keep the tie alive tonight, provided they put in a far more cohesive performance than they did against Drogs. They’re a counter-attacking side that are ideally set up to play away from home in Europe.

it seems I was a little off, I thought Carew would play some part but his ankle must not be good, the rest of the team is right though with Harewood in his place in the first 11 and The Fonz on the bench.

They must be favourites to go through now. Apparently it was a fantastic goal from Dempsey.

    FT: Elfsborg 2 - 2 St. Pats

Well done to Pats. Coming back from 2-0 down away from home in Europe is a tough ask. I expected them to get at least a draw, a score draw is all the better.

    FT Man City lose 1-0

not expected but then again they never seem to make things easy for themselves now they have to do the business away from home.

Good result for Pats alright, but then, I did predict as much ;).

Let's not get carried away though; that's only half the job done. But I'd be extremely disappointed if they didn't progress from here.

    Jesus.

    Fair play to Pats.

2alls a fantastic result. They must go out to win the next game though. Can't sit on this.

I never thought I'd see the day when Bohs, Shels and Pats fans were all united behind a common cause.

Or better again, Benfica, so they can experience the REAL Stadium of Light.
