    Grrr.
Does anyone have a fix for properly deleting files from memory pens when they're plugged into OS X? The exact problem is the creation of the invisible .Trashes and whatever else crap .folders are created when deleting stuff and the inability to delete these folders when you turn on show me hidden files.

It's really frustrating having to go to a Windows PC in order to properly clear my memory pen for use on my Mac. Does anybody else live with this problem?

ummmm......you don't need to delete them. It'll work absolutely fine without deleting them, in fact every time you delete them - Finder will recreate them.

They're hidden for a reason, just like the many many hidden files and folders in the root directory of your Mac's HD. You don't see them because you don't need to see them.

They do, however, serve a purpose -

._****** = HFS file data stored on volumes that don't support it.. i.e. FAT
.DS_store = finder visual information, icon positions etc
/.Trash = files you have in the trash but haven't emptied
    .Spotlight-V100 = spotlight

These files only take up a few KB on the stick. Are you finding that even after files are deleted that the space isn't freed up on the stick ? If this is the case, simply empty the trash can on the Dock while the stick is plugged into the Mac and it'll free up the space on the stick.

Stop turning on "Show hidden files".

    They're hidden for a reason ;)

Blue Harvest is a utility which automatically removes the files and folders that are troubling you. Registration costs $12.95.

Pfft, paying for software  :) for something as trivial as that, they should be ashamed of themselves.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

When you delete a file on the usb key you need to empty your trash also like you normally would. It will then empty the trash on your mac and your usb key. I think thats what you're looking for?
