PSU overheating

    Hi,

Having some bother with my PSU.

First it appeared to have a break in the connection. And only works now if its sitting a certain way, usually with the lead fed under the laptop and lead having no slack.

    This is most inconvient.

Now the damn thing is heating up, and i didnt think this was possible as its already a hot machine, ie. fan runs all the time, very noisy.

If i take the PSU pin out its very very warm to the touch.

Im going to try and use another PSU of my friend with the same computer to see if its the PSU plug or the socket of my laptop thats causing the trouble, but just looking for some advise/thoughts/solutions etc.

Very annoying problem as i use my laptop a lot and battery only holds less than an hours charge!

Laptop is a iQon tesco model thats nearly 3 years old if that makes any difference to the price of bread!

Err... if it's heating up and loosing connection there may be a short in the cable somewhere. Don;t use the supply again, there is a possibility of it dangerously overheating and catching fire. A slim possibility, but it still exists.
