Any advice/recoomendations very welcome. Have been dealing with a leak for the last two and a half years. As i live in an apt I have to jump through hoops to get someone to come and take a look at it. Am looking for the name of a RELIABLE, REPUTABLE roofer who can come and take a look - it's a flat roof, top (3rd) floor apt. Have had water coming through a light fitting with all this heavy rain the last few days!

    Hi All
Looking for a reputable builder/roofer to tackle a leak that has been ongoing for almost three years. Living Dublin City Centre top floor apartment and have a reasonably big damp patch on my bedroom ceiling which has a flat roof. Also have a problem with the pitched roof above the sitting room.
Have had a number of guys to look at it/fix it but no result yet.
Looking to source someone who can fix this/identify the problem once and for all.
Apologies for lack of reply to the last thread Builderfromhell - no offence intended,I had got sorted with someone I thought was going to fix the problem.
    All recommendations welcome
    Cheers guys

is there access to the roof. you really have a problem thats hard to diagnose, as i'm sure you know by now. the water could be coming in from a far distant point and following a path of least resistence. i have the number of a general builder, been around years, and who has done a lot of repair work for insurance companies over the years. if they use him themselves, says plenty for the work he does. i do deal with him myself as a tradesman, and will give you his number if you wish.

    cheers,

    Hey Kitser
Yeah there is access to the roof through a skylight, also to the attic! There is a hole in the felting in the attice so i have a basin there to catch the water - better that than it coming down into the sitting room! As for the flat roof, yeah, not sure where that is coming in.
I guess I am just really looking for someone trustworthy and likely to be able to diagnose what the problem is.
If you could pm me a number I'd be very very appreciative, cheers
