It's for my mother but I'll be paying, so keep it cheap! :) She'll be coming from a 32" CRT. Source will be 100% Sky SD. Most of her viewing will be football, hence the 100hz. Might go to 40" to include the Sonys. Only one I've seen so far is a Series 6 Samsung but this is more than the €1000 (or less) I was hoping to pay. Can anybody recommend something?

I saw a link to this in Bargain Alerts - I'm not sure how good it is, perhaps some of the mods can tell us....

I would choose this. Its 1080p and also has `100hz technology. Its also panasonic so you know it will be built properly.Havnt looked at reviews or anything but going on panasonics history of lcds, this would be a top piece of kit.I also think its quite well priced at RS.Delivery to ireland is only 20 pounds(Only for boardsies), which means it would cost less that 1000e.Have a look at richersounds forum in the biz section

Thanks. That looks good alright. Advert says it must be bought in-store though. Will ask on the Richersounds board.

Afaik, they would be still able to ship it to you for 20 pounds.I know of another boardsie who got a tv from RS and it also said "in store only"
