    Quick question - is the 5D the only body that is non-compatible with EF-S lenses?

    1D also. I'm not sure about the 1Ds, its 1.3 crop iirc but I think EF-S is for APS-C (1.6 crops)

    EF-S will only work, as has been said, with APS-C sensors. It won't work with APS-H, nor full frame. So, they won't work with 1D, 1Ds nor 5D.
