Looks like a good price alright.

I think it's the same one as this Polaroid on QVC.
I've seen the presentation of this a few times, and it does seem like a handy little set.

Saving a few hundred euro on that price too!

Can this TV be collected from Pixmania

That tv looks good, I might wait for reviews from someone. I'm wondering how good the reception would be from old fashioned tv aerial in back of tv, as I haven't made the move to Sky or NTL yet, but I know I'm in the minority there.

Stick with CRT if you have that setup. Much better picture.

I just saw that the contrast ratio is 5,000:1

    That is piss poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,686 ✭✭✭RealistSpy

yeh but I wont I wont die on 5,000:1 especially for that price on the polaroid website it says full hd 1080p and later it say 1080i and contrase 10000:1. I am really confused about the specs anyways I will keep update.

Here's the only Which review I could find on a Polaroid:

    Polaroid TLU-03723B
    Type: LCD
    Which? score: 21%

Polaroid is not a big name in the world of flat-panel TVs. And on this evidence it will need to work much harder to make strides into the market. This 37-inch HD-ready LCD is like a throwback to the early days of digital technology, and hosts a list of so many reasons not to spend five hundred pounds, that it’s difficult to fit them all in one review.

Standard definition pictures are poor. Using the Scart RGB input, we found that images look flat, dull and smeary – problems highlighted by our technical tests. The artificial look is evident on Freeview. Motion problems and blotchy images drove our panel to remark that the Polaroid was not fit for purpose. High definition pictures suffer from poor resolution and noticeable banding.

Sound quality is equally poor, with the mediocre bass was about as good as it gets. Freeview sounded peaky and with lots of hiss, high frequencies lacked detail, and we heard distortion when listening to our revealing classical music sequence.

Usability is also an issue. The electronic programme guide is unintuitive to use, and although it has good contrast and is a decent size, it is blurred. The instruction manual lacks detail and the remote is poorly laid out, with rarely used buttons taking prominence over some with more key functionality.

The HDMI sockets do not support widescreen switching, auto-source selection or the 1080/24 picture format. Scart cannot trigger any compatible recording equipment but, on the plus side, it has a VGA socket for connecting up to your PC and digital audio output for hooking up to a surround sound system. It can be mounted on a wall, but you’ll need to buy the necessary fittings separately.

Pros: VGA socket for connecting a PC

    Cons: Everything else

And here's another on the same model:

    Perfect quote from another review:
Cheap things do not necesarily offer good value for money. Supermarket Value lager might be half the price of Heineken, but we think it tastes at least five-times worse. Cheap? Yes. Good value for money? Not even close.

Seriously, you are going to be looking at TV for 4-5 hours a day. Spend a bit more on a quality brand and be happy with your purchase, not moaning because you went for the cheap option and it was ****e.

    37" 16:9 Polaroid Full HD TFU-43723B

    1920x1080
    500 cd/m2
    10,000:1 yes 10,000 not 5,000
    6.5ms
    2x HDMI yes 2 not

    The Box

    The TV

I have it hocked up with my ps3 straight via HDMI cable. I don't watch TV much but a lot of Blu Ray Movies. It comes with all the things you might expect although i got a shock when I saw that the connection plug was 2 pins but I later found that there was a converter included.

    Connectors

At first I couldn't watch any blu ray movies it wouldn't display. Until I set the BD 1080p 24Hz output HDMI. After that fiasco every thing works fine. The picture looks great well a little improvement from my old 768 hd ready monitor. I tried different Disc and they all look fine I could see a little difference.

    Connectors 2

Up close to the tv very close I notice few amount of noise and at the right distance back none. I have notice that on most Full HD tv in the shops Bravia to be one. I also havent notice any motion blur so far but I will test for it later with fifa.

    Inside

    Version 1.0
more to come so far so good

About bad customer service most that I know who has used it have no complain. I am not saying they are perfect but still like opinions differ. If your into the best viewing entity get a projector for the best
