    Hey lads,

In realistic terms it's very hard to start a public game without a leaver from start to finish. There are never any guarantee's. So I said I'd make a topic so you can see how you can at least try to minimize leavers in your hosted games!

I hope you find this useful.

    Step 1: Download a Banlist - ( I use Banlist.nl )
Download a Banlist, listchecker or any safe software that allows you to check Fromall and pingall. Also Autorefresh, This allows you to refresh the game without accidentally kicking someone. When connected to your banlist owner database your informed of leavers who have already been banned.

    Step 2: Using your Banlist
Pinging with your banlist. After your done pinging remove anyone that over 150 MS. Also when checking where there from, if there country is extremely far from your's and the ping your recieving is t/o: (Which means they have a firewall that's preventing you from checking their Ping, or your firewall is.) I'd usually kick them.

    Step 3: Name Check
Indeed you can sometime tell how people are going to play and if theyr'e going to leave by just looking at their name. This is on your own discretion but personally I'll kick anyone with any sort of racist name, name including one of the heroes. (Example DeMonWitChXxX)

    Step 4: Speaking in chat
This is a bit more common sense. If someone in your game says "go". Immediately kick them. If it's while the game is or is not full. If people do not have the patience to wait for you to ping and check fromall then they will generally leave as they conceed 1st blood. Also if someone starts talking random ****e you can be guaranteed they've no interest in staying and playing for the full extent of the game.

Step 5: Slot for a friend please?
Yes, we're all familiar with the "Hi slot for friend pl0x?!" comment that's often made before a game starts.. Most hosts just insta-kick this person because they don't want the hastle of waiting for that persons friend. Generally it's better if your kind enough to let that persons friend join, they will both be happy they finnaly found a game they could join together without the host kicking one of them that they'll stay for the entire duration.

    Step 6: Binds
I find this very important. For most banlists this is a thing you can set, then by pressing 1 button it bring's up your text. Before the game starts, after I ping and fromall and all looks well. I use a bind that's binded to my F1 button. Feel free to copy this or create something similar using your own words.

    *This is a Banlisted Game*
*If you intend on leaving, or going anywhere in the next 90 minutes please leave this game now*
*If you leave this game before it ends, you will be added to my banlist, and thousands of others*

I then wait a minute or 30 seconds. And you'd be surprised how 1 or 2 people will leave the game. It sends them a wakeup call and a clear state of the rules. Aswel it reminds them how long the game may take.

Thanks for reading, I hope this helped. If you have any questions or suggestions please post them here and I'll add them to the guide.
    Regards,
    Sykk

I usually kick people that start asking for 2v2,3v3, etc when a game is taking awhile to populate.

As for the "Hi slot for friend pl0x?!" people I've been burned too many times where one dies and leaves quickly followed by his mate, so I tend to not let them play in my games.

Nice informative post, maybe add links to some of the banlists available ?
