Last night my g/f forgot about her iPod and put it in the wash with the rest of her clothes.
Its only 5 weeks old. I got it for her birthday last month.

What is the chance it will survive when it dries out?
    Slim? None?

    Could it be repaired?

    Slim.
Yes, but it'd most likely be beyond economical repair.

Wonder if she can claim it off the house insurance

But as a serious reply - tell her not to switch it on at all when she takes it out of the wash, it obviously won't work, leave it dry for a few days/weeks before trying to switch it on

i have had plenty of flash devices (pen drives, memory cards etc.) put through the wash and have survived after a couple of days in the hot press.

now they would die a year or two afterwards but they would still work fine up until then. at least it was a chance to get data off them.

if it's a classic ipod i'd say it's very slim though.

    iPod Classic 80GB.

Its sitting in the laundry press to dry out. We'll give it a charge in a few days and see how things go.

Did you give this a try yet?

our probably better of not putting it in the laundry press. steam. but if you live it with the connector faceing down for a week at least. use a hairdryer to dry it from the bottom. if all fails take it apart (somehow, prob a penknife)
