Had a chance to try my new 17-40 L but conditions were...well, less than ideal. Spotted some deer the next day and shot away with my 70-300 IS. Sorry for the dodgy processing - I'm really suffering from burn-outs, particularly on the horizons of some of my shots. More to come if I have time to fix em up.

The deer seem a bit dull/dark, so possibly a B&W approach could be taken, as I don't the grass add much.

The 2nd one is interesting - is it HDR?

Nah it's just me trying to salvage something from an overcast sky.

    Hey,

I like the first shot, shame about how overcast the day was!! Not sure if you use lightroom but adding a bit of "warmth and sun" to an overcast shot is a pretty easy process with it.
