Yes, very good - I'd reccomend buying off ebay until the Irish shops cop on and start pricing goods properly.

Just got a 70-200 f/2.8 L USM in the mail today, for 750€ Can't argue with that.

hmnnnnn.... now that i think about it, i think everything (photography) except for a cleaning kit was purchased off eBay and one or two other sites.

For eBay - just watch for ratings, number of transactions, read the entire advertisement and small print, check the postage, positive / negative feedback, make sure there is paypal cover to the value of whatever it is you are buying.

I've never had to return anything and i'm wondering how i'd feel if i had to - i'd guess i'd be not impressed but then again you can pick up excellent value so its a trade off and a risk you take. A few people have had that issue around here. Nothing scary but just to be aware of it.

I had one eBay deal (non photography) go bad on me. I bought and paid immediately and no sign of the goods after about 2 weeks. Supplier looked fine on the screen and reputable. There was Paypal cover way in excess of the cost of the goods i was purchasing and after fruitless attempts to contact the seller i formally entered into a dispute through paypal, and after about 4-5 days, Paypal made a full refund to me.

Although I would recommend buying form ebay I am not sure I would recommend that particular seller that you linked too. Maybe try KEA (don't forget to allow for duty/vat) or Kerso (although his shop seems to be empty at the moment).

There is a sticky up above with other recommended sellers as well.

I got that very same lens only last week.

Firstly the lens is fantastic. Amazed how sharp it is, and the bokeh is just brilliant.

I was also tempted by Emilyandlily but was turned off when I googled chat about them and saw lots of bad stuff. Bad rep for selling refurbished items and poor service. So I turned it down.

Bought it from Kea photo due to so many people recommending them on this site. Paid €279 inc postage and recieved item at my door within 3 working days.

So go for it, you'd be crazy to pay Irish shop prices.

    Hi,

I'm currently in the market for a CANON EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. They're retailing in a brick and mortar outlets for just under €500. While on ebay they're going for almost half that.

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/NEW-CANON-EF-50mm-f-1-4-USM-LENS-50-mm-f1-4-1-4-AF_W0QQitemZ170248471670QQihZ007QQcategoryZ30070QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Has anybody had any experience (good / bad) ordering from ebay?

    Cheers.

i was goin to buy that lens off that buyer but had a good look at there negative feedback from the past few months and the seller just has excuse after excuse for letin people down and all in the last few months. Maybe look for different seller there are loads genuine people on ebay:)
