I was thinking of buying this as well.I am sure it is a good deal for the price but I came upon this review of sorts on here from 2006 http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055000703.I know that its not the same model but its spec are pretty much identical if you check the website

Noy having optical zoom would put me off it alltogther.I'd say getting an out and out camcorder would be the best bet
