Does anyone here subscribe to a Buddhist Podcast ?

In my current circumstances I am lacking in opportunities to discuss Buddhist teachings/teachers so I have subscribed to a couple of podcasts to 'fill the gap'.

This week I am mostly listening to the Buddhist Geeks

Can anyone recommend any others ?

    Many Thanks.

HI Chopper and welcome. I do not listen to them myself. However, one very good source for material is Youtube, there are also a fair number of Buddhist and meditation internet radio stations around.

Welcome and thanks. I spent an hour going through my iTunes library and radio casts looking for that. There are also a few in the Radio section of iTunes

OK, so 4 weeks ago I posted this. Since then I have found several podcasts relating to Buddhism and Buddhist practice; some good, some not so good.

Two of which I would like to recommend are buddhistgeeks.com and zencast.org

I have found the Buddhist Geeks podcast gives a great insight into the different types of meditation practice available. The format is of a regular radio show where knowledgeable people are interviewed and related issues discussed. So far I have listened to 62 of the 87 podcasts in the archive. I must say I now have a much better understanding of the types of meditation available and of the different projects going on in various Buddhist communities. (Sorry to say Asiaprod: there is no mention of the SGi in there anywhere; not so far anyway)

The Zencast on the other hand is more like "Audio Dharma". Lots and lots of free Dharma talks on various aspects of the Buddhist path from various different teachers; most lasting an hour or more. The Zencast archive goes back to 2005 but they have a searchable list which is also sorted by category.

While I was not looking specifically for a meditation "how-to"; I did find an excellent recording of an Introduction to Insight Meditation over on zencast.org which I am trying to put into practice.

If you are a regular listener to any Buddhist or Meditation podcast I'd love to hear what you think....

    Cheers,
    John
