Folks, I'm looking for advice on the best mattress to buy for a double bed - looking for something that's very comfortable. Also any advice on where to purchase (online or bricks and mortar shop) would be very welcome.

    Hi Hamrog,

I used to have a memory foam mattress (kaymed) and thought it was really nice. I moved house last year and bought a new bed and mattress. Its pocket spring on the bottom and memory foam on the top and its really, really nice. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. I was a bit sceptical when buying it as I was so used to only having the memory foam but we both love it. Only problem is, its VERY hard to get out of bed now! :)

A new mattress like this can take a bit of time to get used to, our backs were sore for the first few days until we got used to it but I would never go back to a cheap mattress again. The one I got was for a 6ft bed and cost approximately €900.

I bought mine in Cloud 9 in Coolmine Industrial Estate, D15.

I have no connection with this company...

I have a King Koil mattress that has a memory foam top part and it's sheer bliss. I also bought memory foam pillows which take a while to get used to but they're really comfy too.

Myself and the OH stayed in a lovely hotel in Galway recently and had the most comfortable nights sleep ever on a fantastic mattress so the next morning i lift the sheets to see what type it was cos i am thinking of buying a new mattress and the one in the hotel was a Respa Vogue Excellence
