hi i am just wondering if i can get some advice,

i am due to have mirena fitted tomorrow wednesday, was supposed to start my period 2 days ago ie sunday, and still no sign, its like my body knows that for once i want it to be on time so its playing a cosmic joke on me. yes im 100% sure im not pregant before anyone asks,.

anyway my problem is how do i kick start my period, anyone know of anything, 50 star jumps, hot bath, rampant porn star sex, standing on your head, running starkers in the rain, im desperate,

ill be waiting a couple of months for appointment if i miss this one, plus ill have to pay doctor for tomorrows appointment, so any advice no matter how weird appreciated.

You can't kick start your period tbh, stressing wont' help and really your dr should know well enough that a fitting has to be when your body is ready and it's daft charging you when it's beyond your control.

If you are not happy with the restrictions being place on you re the fitting of the IUS then I suggest you try a different dr.

Would agree there, maybe change your doc, or get a womens health clinic to fit it?

Seriously, any Consultant Gynaecologist worth his/her salt has theatre minimum 3 days a week, i'm sure they could fit you in on Thurs/Fri.

Seems rather unreasonable you would have to wait another few months for the next appointment.

What do they do with a woman who has irregular periods ffs???

Try not to worry, that'll only delay it longer!!

Are you sure it's the coil that is causing this? Maybe it's something else.

She hasn't had the I.U.S. inserted yet.

    Hey op

Not sure if there is any way of making it come sonner so cant advise you on that.

But, I got the merina coil in last week in Rotunda I didnt need to wait months I just went in to the open clinic they have every thursday they say you need to book atleast a week before you want to go in for it and you have to get the coil yourself in chemist as they dont provide it there.
    Hope this helps!:)

    Good Luck

Come back and tell us how painful the fitting was.

+1 although hopefully it won't be painful at all:).

The doctor should give you painkillers if you are having it inserted. And I would say the pain varies from woman to woman.

My mother had this coil fitted & said it was quite painful for her. Everyone has a different pain threshold though so just be brave. :)

Stressing on the possible pain is counterproductive, if youre getting it done, youre getting it done. The staff will be good, helpful, and minimise the discomfort. Id hate to think of someone being put off based on a horror story, as it does vary, and in general I dont think is all that bad anyway.

OP, when I got one fitted, I had to phone the day before to confirm I was 'on', or they were going to reschedule, at no extra fee. Id phone the doc and ask about this.
