Tickets for Waterford V Tipperary

I have some visitors over from England this weekend, and want to bring them to Croke Park to see a hurling game.

Would there be tickets available on the day, or should I book them in advance? I've bought tickets before outside the ground, but these were for matches in earlier rounds of Leinster Football.

If booking in advance, is ticketmaster the only way to do this? I've looked on their site and it's not giving great seats (in the corner). Am I likely to get better seats through another source/on the day?

    Thanks.

Not sure about if you'll be guaranteed better seats on the day, but they definately should be available outside the stadium. It wont be a sell out, dont worry about that. TM always seem to give corner seats to Best Available, or else too low behind teh goals. Keep searching for specific areas of the stadium(Upper Cusack/Hogan), and you may get better seats!

Thanks Mushy. Am keen to get onto Hogan/Cusack as I feel the visitors will get a better appreciation of the game from a side-on view, however TM not offering me any tickets in either.

May just wait until day of the game in order to avoid TM's service charge. If I ring and book them through the GAA Ticket Office, will I avoid this service charge (suppose I could just ring them myself and find out!).....

No worries. Know what ya mean, I dragged a mate from England to games a bit back(Kerry-Monaghan day), we were upper Cusack in the corner, its alright there, nothing too bad, but to appreciate it fully it'd be good to be more central.

AFAIK the GAA ticket office is run by Ticketmaster anyway, so no difference there. Dont blame ya avoiding the service charge. Maybe another route could be to ring the County Board and request tickets for desired area. Not sure whether you have to be member of club for this to work though.

Ring the GAA and book your tickets that way.

Check out also the seating map for Croker, and find out before you buy, what section you're going to be in.

Wait until later in the week - Waterford and Tipp county boards will be returning unsold tickets which will then be made available

Got 7 Hogan Stand tickets on Ticketmaster last night, there won't be any shortage of tickets on the day and I'd say there will be a good choice of seats, so I'd say save yourself the €4.50 per ticket Ticketmaster charge and get them on the day.
