Eircom Wireless Question - Help/Advice Needed

(I tried a keyword search on here but can't seem to find the right info)

I recently signed up to Eircom BB 2MB and I was provided
with a silver Netopia 2247NWG router.

I connect to the web by running a phone line from the wall socket
to the router and a yellow ethernet cable from the router
    to my laptop.

There is also a wireless light lit up on the router.

My question is, seeing as my laptop is wireless enabled
can I connect to the internet completely wirelessly using this router?

I'm not the most savvy as you might guess from a techhy point of view,
I was wondering do i need a seperate router to connect to?

I would like to use the laptop in other pats of my home but I am limited
by the current wired set up.

If this is possible is there a step by step guide online to doing it
or do I need to be in a ''wireless hot-spot' for this to be possible.

    would appreciate any replies

    cheers.

Has this router got an aerial on the top of it?

Has this router got an aerial on the top of it?

    That was quick!

It has two black aerials about 2.5-3 inches on each corner at the back which stick up.

yeah it can be used wirelessly, with it connected by the ethernet cable click wireless on the left hand wide of the homepage, in there ya will see encryption keys, take note of the first one, plug out the ethernet cable then search for wireless networks on the laptop and when it asks for the wep key enter the one ya noted
    thats it

How'd ya get on? Sorry, missed your reply, should work with wifi no prob, check out the wireless forum for more info/help on setting it up. Would recommend using WPA encription over WEP as it's more secure and has less of an overhead.
