Planning An AustralAsia Trip

    Hi All
I have been granted 3 months off in work and i am currently planning a little trip around AustralAsia...

I have lived in Australia and Bkk in the past and am planning on spending the 2nd and 3rd months of the trip in Thailand... Have already visited the neighbouring countries extensively, so it will be more R&R time

That gives me a month to play with...

I plan on visiting some other parts of Asia and visiting Sydney again...
    Current Planned Itinerary:
    Sydney 7 02/11/2008 09/11/2008
    Tokyo 4 09/11/2008 13/11/2008
    Shanghai 4 13/11/2008 17/11/2008
    Beijing 4 17/11/2008 21/11/2008
    HK 4 21/11/2008 25/11/2008
    Taipei 4 25/11/2008 29/11/2008
    Bkk 60 29/11/2008 28/01/2009

Am also happy to stop off in (Bkk, Sin or KL for a few days on the way to Oz)
Am I being overly ambitious in my flight plans?
I am not going around the world - so i guess this means i can't get round the world tickets... are there alternatives?

Is my trip logical? ie. Am i visiting these places in the wrong order?
What about times? A i staying too long or too short?

Would i be better off to forget about the sydney leg altogether and just buy return flights to SE asia and get one of thoe Asia Circle Pass tickets?

As above the last 60 days in BKK will be spent relaxing and getting the odd Air Asia flight for side trips...

    All advice greatly appreciated...
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi All
Just wanted to update this thread
Visited my local trailfinders today and the girl there recommended the following itinerary for me:

    DUB-LON-Tokyo-Sydney-Beijing-(own tranport)-BKK-Lon-Dub

Have been quoted €1650 for this which seems quite good to me - but it has to be booked before 6pm tomorrow!
Have decided to drop the Taiwan leg as it just seems impossible to get reasonably priced flights there...

Instead the (own transport) section is now:
Beijing - Shanghai €98 on Air china
Shanghai - Macau €160 or Air macau or direct to HK for €230
    HK-Sin €55 on JetStar Asia
Sin-Bkk- €58 on JetStar Asia or Air Asia

So all in the flight will be around €2100
I think this is a fairly good price - what to others think?
Is it worth paying the extra €70 to fly direct to HK and skipping the Macau Hassle?
