60 minutes of what? Music? Video? Whats the Bitrate?

It all depends. It has a lot more to do with Memory (MB) than Playback Time. But SD transfer is pretty adequate.

its an sd card so its probably between 1gb and 8gb;s in size so we're not talking about it taking hours here.

It would be 6o minutes of video. I am going to film a cycle tour, and am yet to buy a camcorder and sd card.

I can't bring my laptop, so will have to use internet cafe, and am wondering would i need to give it much time...

So just say an average bitrate..

not long enough to need to quantify. inside 10 minutes.

It's really down to the size of your card. Doesn't matter what's on it, so fill it up with whatever, then copy if off as a test.

OP you say your going to use an internet cafe? Are you talking about uploading the actual video some where or putting it on a cd or something???

On my camera even at the lowest setting 1 minute of video gives me a 50mb .avi file . this would work out at about 3gb for an hour of footage.

You could burn this to a dvd in under 10 minutes , but if your talking about
uploading to the internet be prepared to wait it could take all day depending
    on connection speed.

would have been faster to just do it than to bother asking how long it would take...think about it, you could be done now!.... time management skillz....i haz them! :)

All good points. SD transfer is quick. Faster if the machine has a built-in card reader instead of a USB reader. Burning to disc is really up to the program you use and the burner involved and that could take anywhere between 5 and 30 minutes.

    Thanks all,

I would transfer to a dvd (if internet cafe's have the program???).

I' would try it, but I haven't got a video cam, sd card yet
